Seven BRAC University students have recently won prizes competing in a Grameenphone Academy - Cisco Network Academy 4IR Learning Challenge. The students, Rifah Nanjiba, MD Fahim-Ul-Islam, Md Wahiduzzaman, Md Mostafa Salman, Salman Sadat Nur, Md Mosfekuzzaman Rafi and Partha Bhoumik, had taken part in Cisco courses -- “Cybersecurity”, “IoT” and “Python”.
The BRAC University students received their awards from Dr. Sadia Hamid Kazi, Chairperson of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of BRAC University, and Yasir Azman, CEO of Grameenphone. Azman thanked the academicians for joining hands with the industry to work towards creating a “Smart Bangladesh”. The event ended with a musical performance by ULAB Vice-Chancellor Imran Rahman.
Three competitions, including one for female @STEM, were run individually in the Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, Islamic University of Technology, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB), United International University, International University of Business Agriculture and Technology, Daffodil International University and North South University.
The winners were awarded by free online learning platform Grameenphone Academy through a “Grameenphone Academy Night” on 19 February 2023, which was joined by state policymakers and vice chancellors and senior academicians of the competing universities.
