It was a moment of jubilation and unbridled joy for BRAC University's players and supporters as the referee blew the final whistle at the NSU Inter University Sports Carnival 2023. They erupted in celebration as the BRAC University football team secured victory in the grand finale by defeating the Independent University of Bangladesh (IUB) with a narrow scoreline of 1-0.
BRAC University was appreciated in the Duke of Edinburg Award Night 2023 recently for enrolling the highest number of participants among all institutions in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Program. Her Excellency Sarah Cooke, the British High Commissioner to Bangladesh attended the program as chief guest.
BRAC University organized an event to celebrate BRACU Duburi’s grand success at ‘Robosub 2023’ on 27 August 2023 at BRAC University auditorium. In the event, team members of BRACU Duburi were given a warm reception along with certificates. BRACU Duburi, an autonomous underwater vehicle developed by BRAC University students, has been recently judged runner-up of Robosub 2023, one of the world’s most prestigious robotics competitions.
BRAC University’s operations department and Medical Center organized a daylong health awareness and safety training on the university’s premises on 12 August, 2023 for people employed to drive the university’s vehicles, including those of the Student Transport Service. Participated by 36 drivers, the training also aimed at disseminating knowledge on safe driving, first aid and managing everyday stress.
BRACU Duburi, an autonomous underwater vehicle developed by BRAC University students, has been adjudged runner-up of Robosub 2023, one of the world’s most prestigious robotics competitions. The team also received Ingenuity Special Award in this competition.
To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), the UN Resident Coordinator (UNRC) Office in Bangladesh, with support of the School of Law at BRAC University, organized a dialogue on "Digital Laws and Freedom of Expression - Human Rights 75" at the university on 21 May, 2023.
Students of the 63rd Residential Semester of BRAC University celebrated “World Music Day” at the university’s Residential Campus in Savar on 21 June, 2023.
The day originated in France in 1982 and since then has been celebrated all over the world with enthusiasm to come together and rejoice in the joy of making or listening to music. This is the first time that BRAC University observed the day.
A group of BRAC University students took part in the leadership and civic-engagement oriented Get Engaged Conference 2023 on invitation from Open Society University Network (OSUN) which funded and organized the event at Central European University in Budapest, Hungary from 28 June to 3 July, 2023.
