Nureen Faiza Anisha, Research Associate from C3ER, BRAC University has been conferred the highly prestigious Asia Foundation Development Fellowship 2017 as one of the 12 emerging future leaders of Asia from a competitive application pool of about 900 applicants across Asia.
Climate Finance Transparency Mechanism (CFTM) has been initiated in January 2017 and is being implemented by a consortium (consortium-1) among Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER), BRAC University, International Centre for Climate Change moreover, Development (ICCCAD), and the Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS) in Association with the British Council.
Dr. Md. Sajidur Rahman, Assistant Professor, C3ER, BRAC University attended the BRAC Migration Award 2016. In a first ever initiative to recognize journalists for their remarkable reporting on the issue of migration, BRAC has awarded 10 journalists under different categories in the country for their reports on migration last year.
Md. Reaz Uddin Khan, Lecturer, C3ER, BRAC University participated in the Consultation Workshop on Sphere Handbook Revision at BRAC Centre Inn on 20 April 2017. Disaster Management and Climate Change (DMCC) programme of BRAC chaired the workshop. The Sphere Handbook captures best practice, evidence and experience in humanitarian response to establish minimum standards that can be applied worldwide in various contexts. The Handbook is currently being revised to prepare the fourth edition which will be published in 2018.
C3ER arranged its fourth knowledge development training on Climate Change, which was designed to give a clear understanding about climate change and its impacts. The two-day long training started from 25 to 26 April 2017 at C3ER.
Roufa Khanum, Coordinator (Operations), C3ER, BRAC University participated in development of proposed programme on addressing poverty and climate vulnerability organized by Oxfam on 25 April 2017 at Jamuna Meeting Room, RAOWA Complex, Oxfam in Bangladesh Country Office. The event was organized to gather expert input from various Ministries of Government of Bangladesh, international agencies, non-governmental organizations, including those working on women’s and human rights, private sectors and scholars.
