Khandaker Jafor Ahmed, Research Associate, Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER), BRAC University participated in a Forum on Bringing Together EHS Professional in Bangladesh, on 7 October 2017 which was held in Long Beach Suites, Gulshan, Dhaka.
The Climate Reality Leadership Corps training was organized by Climate Reality Project which was founded and chaired by former US Vice President Al Gore. The Climate Reality Project is dedicated to catalyzing a global solution to the climate crisis by making urgent action necessity across the world.
Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER), in its effort to solve the southwestern region transboundary water issues, organized the workshop on, “Advancing Water Security of Marginalized Communities Living Along Karnali-Ganges River Basin in Nepal, India and Bangladesh” on 10 October 2017 in collaboration with WaterAid, Bangladesh and Shushilan.
Ms. Sharmin Nahar Nipa, Lecturer of Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER) attended Bangladesh National Conference on Disaster Risk Management on 3 and 4 October, 2017 organized by the Department of Disaster Management in collaboration with key humanitarian NGOs in Bangladesh. Md. Reaz Ahmed, Director General (Additional Secretary), Department of Disaster Management inaugurated the conference where more than 200 delegates from different NGOs, INGOs and private sector actively participated in the event.
Roufa Khanum, Coordinator; Dr. Sajidur Rahman, Assistant Professor and Ms. Sharmin Nahar Nipa, Lecturer of Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER) gave their lectures on “Climate Change in Urban”, ‘’Concepts and Applications of Climate Change Tools and Techniques’’ and ‘’Communication with Communities (CwC)’’ on 23 October 2017.
C3ER also arranged knowledge development training on Climate Change, which was designed to give a clear understanding about climate change and its impacts. The two-day long training started from 18 to 19 October 2017 at C3ER.
A capacity development training as a learning activity for the government officials was organized by International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) from 9-13 October in Mumbai, India. The training session was hosted by the NABARD Consultancy Services Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai. The team consisting participants from CFTM partners participated in this institutional visit in Mumbai & Delhi on “Green fund Processes and Implementation” to NABARD Consultancy Services Pvt. Ltd, India along with the government officials. Mr. Md.
Bangladesh University of Engineering Techynology Debating Club organized its Silver Jubilee function from November 30 to December 2, 2017. All current members of BUET debating Club as well as the alumni who belonged to the BUET debating club family attended to celebrate the occasion. BUET Debate Club in all these 25 years has produced excellent debaters who have been contributing a lot to the community with their intellect. Dr.
Bangladesh Infrastructure Finance Fund Limited (BIFFL), a Non-Bank Financial Institution owned by the Ministry of Finance, is the largest of its kind in Bangladesh mandated for financing infrastructure projects. It also promotes, among others, the use of green technologies across the country. As a part of its national awareness campaign for sustainable development, the organization arranged “BIFFL Green Convention and Expo 2017” on 25 November 2017 at Bangabandhu International Conference, Dhaka. Mr.
BRAC University is currently involved in an international joint collaborative research project with seven European and eight Asian university partners. This ASCENT (Advancing Skill Creation to ENhance Transformation) project is funded by co-funded by an EU Erasmus+ programme grant.
