Water Aid Bangladesh organized a Financial Management Training on 17-20 July 2017 at CSS Ava Center, Rupsha Strand Road, Khulna. Mr. Biswajit Barai and Mr Probal Saha participated in the Training as the representative of C3ER. The event took place in order to train up financial management system to the partner organizations. The training started with a welcome speech by Md.

Probal Saha and Nureen faiza Anisha, C3ER, BRAC University participated in the “Dhaka Water Conference in Bangladesh” from 29-30 July 2017. The conference started with the presence of Delta Coalition and High Level Panel on Water (HLPW) Sherpa. He attended the four technical sessions on safe water, sanitation, water quality and water management in the conference.
Conscious and empowered youth can make a better world through their successful engagement in social work. For raising awareness among the young generation in protecting the environment a national level workshop titled “Engagement of Children and Youth to Save Environment” was held on 2 May 2017 at LGED, RDEC Conference Room (Level-12).
Probal Saha, Water Resources Management Specialist, C3ER, BRAC University participated at a Focused Group Discussion on ‘Bridging Gender Gaps in Private Sector Development’ organized by Business Initiative Leading Development (BUILD) on 8 May 2017 at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel. BUILD is a public-private dialogue platform in cooperation with IFC-WBG.
C3ER, BRAC University completed the first phase of field investigation to assess the climate change loss and damage in Bangladesh under the project titled Floating Houses: Community Based Flood Resilience Innovations in Bangladesh funded by KPMG East Africa Limited. The field survey was conducted at Kutubdia Upazila of Cox’s Bazar district from 15-30 May 2017.
Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER), BRAC University successfully organized and completed fifth professional certificate course on Introduction to Climate Change, which was designed to focus and develop the intellectual and practical skills for the application and advancement of the climate change science and subsequent adaptation and mitigation policies.
Dr. Sajidur Rahman, Assistant Professor, C3ER, BRAC University participated in a three-day long Expert Group Training Workshop on Capacity Building of Environmental Statistics held on 15-17 May 2017 at the training Room-03, Statistical Staff Training Institute, BBS (Level-7, Block-B), Parisankhyan Bhaban E-27/A, Agargaon, Dhaka-1207. The training was organized by Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) in collaboration with General Economics Division (GED), Planning Commission.
Centre for Environmental and Geographic Information Services (CEGIS) organized a National Dissemination Seminar on Riverbank Erosion Monitoring and Prediction for Jamuna, the Ganges and the Padma Rivers held on 24 May 2017 at CIRDAP International Conference Centre. Professor Ainun Nishat, Professor Emeritus, C3ER, BRAC University chaired the technical session in the aforementioned seminar. CEGIS has been carrying out this study under BWDB project since from 2004.
