Trends in weather and seasons are currently not what they have been on an average in the past three decades, an alarming sign of climate change, said Professor Ainun Nishat, the Bangladesh government’s climate change negotiator.
Durations of Bangladesh’s six seasons are varying to the extent that some are not being experienced at all, affecting blooms and fish spawning and increasing salinity, insect numbers and the spread of new diseases, he said.

Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER), Brac University conducted a day-long capacity building workshop on climate change for the officials of KPMG, a leading audit firm on April 30, 2019. At the beginning of the workshop Dr. Ainun Nishat, Adviser C3ER gave a brief introduction of climate change science. Later, he described the impacts of climate change in different sectors and the adaptation and mitigation strategies to overcome those issues. He also talked about different global initiatives and climate funds to solve the issues related to climate change.
